Mexico, Tambangnews.com.- Ferrostaal AG will showcase its extensive activities in the areas of recycling and environmental-technology at the international Green Expo trade fair in Mexico City from 27th to 29th September. At the same time, the company will announce the commissioning of its first tyre-recycling plant in Mexico.
Ferrostaal AG Corporate Communications Hubert Kogel says The customer is the operator of a major, nationwide chain of filling stations where drivers can bring their tyres for recycling. Thanks to the recycling plant, the customer can process approx. 1,500 kg of old tyres each hour, doubling its current capacity. Because there are considerable quantities of old tyres in Mexico, the need for recycling is extremely high.
"Rather than store the tyres in enormous landfills, they will now be processed into rubber granules instead. These granules can be used, for example, to surface sports fields and playgrounds, for soundproofing insulation or for hoses that water plants underground, directly at their roots." explained.
Ferrostaal is continuing to expand its activities in the areas of recycling and environmental-technology, thereby making consistent use of its presence in more than 40 countries. Among other things, the company offers plants and system lines for the recycling of old tyres, scrap wire, and aluminium and magnesium scrap, as well as cooling units and electronic scrap. In the area of environmental-technology, Ferrostaal also delivers water-treatment and odour-neutralisation plants, among other things.
Ferrostaal is a global provider of industrial services in plant construction and engineering. As a technology-independent system integrator, the company offers development and management of projects, financial planning and construction services for turnkey installations in the segments of Petrochemicals, Power & Solar and Industrial Plants. As a supplier-independent full service provider, Ferrostaal assembles complex modules for automotive manufacturers and suppliers, and trades as an independent sales and service partner with machines and installations in printing, plastics, packaging and recycling.
Ferrostaal employs around 5,300 people in more than 40 countries. In 2010, its annual turnover amounted to 1.8 billion euros. 70% of the shares in Ferrostaal AG are held by the International Petroleum Investment Company from Abu Dhabi (IPIC), while 30% are owned by MAN SE (Munich, Germany). (tn01)
